I’m House
This hip bullshit the worst it’s been since the surgery. I don’t know if I over-salsa’d it at Cinco de Mayo or if it’s the 2 mile walk I managed to do Tuesday that is catching up with me but there’s been no sleep for the last few days and no comfortable position that doesn’t eventually end up in odd pains. The pain isn’t exactly in the hip. It’s radiating from the quad to the top of the knee and sometime my shin. What the hell?
Backing up, beep beep beep. I walked 2 miles on Tuesday. That’s the longest I’ve been walking since the surgery. It took an hour and five minutes because the last mile, I had to stop a couple of times because I thought a twinge was coming on. I did it. But now I think I overdid it. The longest walk I’d done before was about 1.4 miles so I didn’t follow the 10% rule (adding 10% to the long distance walk once a week).
What’s aggravating is I can do the elliptical for 70-80 minutes. And I can swim two miles faster than I can walk it. But walking from the parking lot to the gym, I almost buckle. The orthopedic surgeon said nothing is torn, I’m still healing and to be patient. But I’m going to make another appointment. Something just isn’t right. I should be off of the naproxen, not using it as a crutch to sleep at night.

on one hand, it seems as if you’re making great progress. on the other, it DOES seem something is off. go to the doc. tell him to pay attention. i hope it’s all in our head…
@buyit - Makes me want to travel a few states to get to an Ariosti or whatever you call it clinic. See if that works.
